I don't really have a good understanding of what DirectX is, or even how the whole process works, or anything to do with the whole field. What is kind of a big deal is when the acceleration is turned down 1 notch, occasionally, the display will get jumbled. to me, not a huge deal, but to everyone else, you'd think the sky was falling. but now, the pointer is not displayed on the screen unless the mouse is moving. I turned the acceleration down a notch, and that corrected that issue. It doesn't appear to be slowing down the program any, as the display 'jumps' to where it should be when the mouse is still. Everything was working fine with full acceleration, but recently, whenever the mouse is moving, the display isn't. I'm having what I believe to be a DirectX/Hardware Acceleration issue with windows XP that just started happening, even though no changes have been made to the system.
